Lots of Stuff!

This past week, Mrs. Bokros and Mrs. Crum had both mentioned to me that our class has been VERY forgetful lately. I spoke to the students and reminded them that it was THEIR responsibility to remember their library books on Tuesdays and their gym shoes on Fridays. Please help your child the night before by reminding them what the next day is and what things they will need. Thanks!

If you have volunteered to chaperone for the field trip, please send in your money! All chaperones are allowed to come along with us. That is one of the many reasons we love visiting Greenfield Village so much. I will be sending a note home next week about carpooling with other parents, but any chaperone wishing to come along is welcome. Just please make sure you have a background check on file. If you are not sure, let me know, I will double check for you!

Also please send me a picture of Mom and student. If a hard copy is sent in, that is the picture the students will be using!

Here is the latest Scoop and May calendar.

I think that's all for now. I hope you all enjoy this day, it's supposed to be nice!!

New words and Leprechaun stories

I need your help!!!!  One of the days I was not here last week, the students' leprechaun stories were sent home.  These were not supposed to go home.  They were glued onto yellow construction paper.  If you have it still, please send it back to school.  Thanks so much!!!

Some New Info

Mr. Gartland, our reading specialist, came in to work with our class this week and the week before break. The kids worked on questioning and visualizing. These are 2 reading strategies that good readers use. While we were working on questioning, we read an interesting article about a man who trains bugs. You heard me correctly, Steven Kutcher, is a Hollywood "bug" wrangler. The kids loved the article and we tried to access his website but we could not get to it at school. Here is the website so you can check it out with your child at home. home.earthlink.net/~skutcher

Also if you have not already done so, please send in a white cotton t-shirt for your child. We are going to work on tie-dying this Friday afternoon. Please make sure your child's name is on the tag or the bag collar of the shirt. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

I will not be in school Wednesday or Thursday of this week. I have to go to a training course the two days. Ms. Stone will be subbing for us. She has subbed for us a few times in the past. The kids really seem to like her.

Here are this week's words:
