UGH!

I busted my rear end to get the bi-weekly notes done to send home with report cards today, but it was late when I finished and I forgot to send it to my email!  UGH!  So, bi-weekly notes will come home Monday!!  Sorry for any inconvenience!  Have a great weekend!

New States and Capitals

Here are this week's states and capitals.  They all did great this week!  Everyone got the first five!!  Way to go!!  The students will be tested next Wednesday, January 30th.  Have fun practicing!  :0)

Tomorrow and Science Experiment

Tomorrow is Academic Blitz.  Please have your child dress up in any college attire to promote higher learning!  :0)

Today the kids learned about gases and we did a fun experiment some of the kids were asking about how to do it at home.  We had a chemical reaction/change when student combined a bottle filled with a little vinegar and a balloon with some baking soda in it.  The balloon is place over the top of the bottle and when the two combine, it results in a gas being formed that will blow up the balloon.  Have fun!

Next week

Due to the half days and no school on Monday, students will have the same spelling words.  They will also be tested on their states and capitals Wednesday!

I wasn't in yesterday, so I was unable to finish up the bi-weekly notes.  They will come home on Tuesday!  Have a great long weekend!!

States and Capitals

The students should have brought home their first States and Capitals list.  They won't be tested on these first 5 until Wednesday, January 23rd.  They will get their new lists on Thursdays and be tested the following Wednesday.  Students who are able to tell me all 50 states and capitals will earn a pizza party with me.  They will get 5 each week for 10 weeks!  Have fun!

Show and Tell

As a special treat for the students, I am asking each child to bring in ONE Christmas gift to share with the other students.  We will be doing this tomorrow, Friday, January 4th.

Students shouldn't bring anything valuable or big.  They, instead, can bring in a picture of the object or the box it came in.  Thanks!
