Tasting of the Greens

Thank you to all your help with our Tasting of the Greens.  We had a lot of fun.  Some students discovered they liked some green food they never realized before.  It was a fun day, but they might be looking a little green!  :0)

We also had a visitor of a leprechaun named Lucky.  He messed with a few of our students desks and made a mess escaping from the window.  He dropped some candy as he raced out the window, but we enjoyed it.  It was a great day!

March Madness has arrived!!  Mrs. Crum has picked the teams for each class.  The class that  has the team that wins the entire competition, will win an extra recess.  Our teams are:  James Madison, Liberty and Oklahoma!  Wish us luck!!

Spelling

It's that time of the marking period for me to assess the students with their formal spelling inventory.  This Friday I will be testing them to see how they are progressing and this will allow me to make any changes with students' groups, if need be.  Due to the test on Friday, students will have this week's spelling words again next week.  They will be tested on this week's words next Friday, March 22nd.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Also, I will be closing the book orders this weekend to ensure that students get their books before spring break.  If you are ordering please do so before Monday.  If you plan on ordering, it is so easy, for you and me, if you do it online.  Plus the class gets a book for our library with every online order.  If you need the information, here it is:

Some Info

Tomorrow is comfy, cozy day.  Have your students dress in their comfy, cozy clothes (sweats, sweatshirts, etc.). 

Also, we are running low on our snack supply in the classroom.  If you are able to donate anything for those students who forget their snacks on those hectic mornings rushing out the door, we would greatly appreciate it!!  Thank you!

I apologize for any confusion the book jackets brought.  I didn't realize I never changed the rubric when I changed the sheet for the kids.  The ones that I have received already are looking great!

The character, setting and theme sheet should be glued on the inside, with the summary on the back of the jacket.  If it was done another way, it's no big deal.  Students will be graded for the information, not the location of the information.  I hope that eliminates any confusion!
