I had every intention to include the February calendar with this post, but I forgot to upload it from school before I left. So I'll have that up here on Monday. Have a great weekend. STAY WARM!
Extra Decks?
We have started something new with math. Each Friday the kids will spend our math time playing math games that reinforce concepts that have been previously taught or that are being studied at that time. We have done this the last two weeks and the students are having a ball with it! I was wondering if any of you had any extra decks of cards that could be donated to the classroom. One of the games I am hoping to play with the kids is played in pairs with a deck of cards. Thanks so much!!

PJ Day and Gym!
Even though it is a half day tomorrow, we will still be having our gym class. Please make sure your child has their gym shoes. Mrs. Crum mentioned to me that we have many kids who forget their gym shoes each week. Those kids typically aren't allowed to participate in gym those days. Also, tomorrow is pj day. Show your school spirit and come to school in your pjs! :)

Latest Info!
Here is the latest Scoop that went home on Friday. Please remember that your student's timeline project is due tomorrow. Each day this week, a few students will share their timelines. After everyone has completed sharing their timeline, they will be on display in our window. I can't wait to see them all, I love seeing all the pictures!!

We Made Gas!
Today the students were learning about gases. I taught them that the atoms in a gas are moving around really fast and there is a lot of space between all the atoms. I then showed them a chemical reaction that produced gas and it blew up a balloon. The kids loved the experiment and I told them I would post it up here. They would need YOUR permission and help to do this at home.
All you'll need is a bottle (empty water, pop or adult beverage bottle is fine), white vinegar, balloon and baking soda.
Fill bottle with the vinegar. Carefully put the baking soda into the balloon. Attach the balloon to the top of the bottle and dump the baking soda into the vinegar and viola! You made a gas! Have fun!!
