Board Meeting

A special, special thank you to Anna, Brady, Brandon, Brooke, and Dario for their help at the Board Meeting on Valentine's Day!  They did an excellent job!  Thank you!  We have a composed picture and a THANK GOODNESS it's over picture!  :0)   They were worried, but they did a great job!  I really appreciate all you did to help!!  Thanks!!

Book Jacket Report

Students will be bringing home their next homework project for March is Reading Month.  Here are the instructions.

March is Reading month and you will be recreating the book jacket of a favorite book.  Feel free to help your child, but remember the final project is to be completed by your child!  Thanks!

The front of your book jacket must have:
*A colorful picture
*The book title
*The author    
*Neat and creative work

Your book report must be on the back cover of your book jacket.   This must be a storybook, not a nonfiction text.  Your book report should include:
*Characters
*Setting
*Problems/Solutions
*Important events that happen
*Story Ending
*Correct spelling and grammar
*Neatness

Book Jacket paper will be provided.  All work will be completed at home.
Due: Tuesday, March 1st
 
 

Valentine's Party

The classroom party will be tomorrow afternoon.  It will begin at 1:15ish (if it's indoor recess).  If it's outdoor recess, it will begin at 2:00.  (They have been caged in here all week and I'm sure would LOVE to go run!)

This party is a very laid back party.  If you are in the building for other parties, you can stop by and visit.  We will be passing out our Valentine's, enjoying our ice cream and watching a movie.  Don't feel like you have to come in.  You will probably be very bored!  :0)  I apologize for any confusion. 

Please be sure your child has their box ready for tomorrow and any Valentine's they would like to pass out.  Thanks for your understanding!

Spelling

New words are up and on Spelling City. Have fun!

Please remember the L.O.V.E. project is due tomorrow. Please send them to me if you can via email. If not, have your child return them tomorrow.

The Valentine's Day party will be on Friday beginning right after library at 1:15ish. It is a laid back party. We will be enjoying ice cream sundaes, passing out Valentine's and watching a movie.

These Second Graders have earned a pin on the AR 3 point banner!!  Congratulations to Anna, Brady, Josh, Brooklynn, Johnluka and Angelle!!

The newest AR contest started on Monday and goes til February 28th.  You have to earn 2 points between now and then to win an ice cream party.  Good luck and happy reading!!
